Der Domino Configuration Tuner (DCT) stellt Funktionen und Werkzeuge bereit, um eine Domino Server hinsichtlich seiner Konfiguration zu prüfen und Verbesserungsvorschläge zu unterbreiten, um die Leistung des Servers zu steigern.

Ein Video zeigt anschaulich, wie die Software funktioniert und welche Ergebnisse geliefert werden.

Darüber hinaus werden Informationen per PDF zum Tool und zur Verwendung bereitgestellt. Wir empfehlen jedem, den DCT herunterzuladen und zu verwenden. Es werden sicher auf jedem Server hilfreiche Einstellungsänderungen vorgeschlagen, welche die Leistung des Servers nachhaltig steigern.

Das DAOS Estimator Tool liegt in einer neuen Version vor. Wenn Sie sich mit dem Gedanken tragen, DAOS auf Ihren Servern einzurichten, dann sollten Sie vorher prüfen, ob und in welchem Ausmaß DAOS Ihre Server entlastet.

Die neue Version 1.4 wurde letzte Woche verföffentlicht und enthält die folgenden Erweiterungen:

• -i Option erlaubt dem Estimator, gegen eine indirekte Datei zu laufen, die eine Liste von Datenbanken enthält, die geprüft werden sollen.
• -c Option zwingt den Estimator Attachment Informationen in eine CSV Datei zu schreiben für weitere Auswertungen. Diese Methode ist bis zu 65% schneller bei der Datenbeschaffung.
• -a Option analysiert eine CSV Datei, die mit der Option -c erstellt wurde. Diese Option kann auch zur Analyse eines Satzes von CSV Dateien genutzt werden, die in einer “.ind” Datei aufgelistet werden.
• -p Option generiert eine Schätzung basierend auf eine Teilergebnis. Hier wird nur ein Prozentsatz von Datenbanken genutzt, um eine Hochrechnung auf das Gesamtsystem zu machen.

Am 28. August 2009, also in genau 3 Tagen, wird Lotus Connection 2.5 ausgeliefert. Der Lotus Knows Jam ist kaum vorbei, da kündigt sich schon der nächste Jam im Hause IBM ab. Unter dem Titel Smart Work Global Jam können Sie vom 16.-18. September 2009 in einem 72 stündigen Jam Ihre Ideen zum Thema Arbeitsplatz und Arbeitsplatzorganisation der Zukunft kundtun.

Die Themen, die im Jam behandelt werden, sind:

• Healthcare – What new possibilities to make health services more affordable, accessible, and personalized are taking shape as people, data, and processes become more connected?

Der Lotus Notes Jam neigt sich dem Ende (sollte nach meiner Zeitrechnung seit 14:00 Uhr vorbei sein, ist aber aktuell noch offen!). Es gibt eine Flut guter Ideen und die weltweite Beteiligung ist grandios. Es wurden Ideen eingestellt, es wurde abgestimmt und kommentiert. Der aktuelle Stand:

Jetzt stellt sich die Frage: Was passiert mit den Ideen? Wie werden diese von IBM / Lotus verwendet? Welche Schlüsse lassen sich ziehen?

Ich denke, dass der Jam ein voller Erfolg war / ist und das eine Flut guter Ideen zu bewerten sind. Eine Idee von uns war gestern sogar HOT und hat heute stimmlich noch einmal gut zugelegt! Mal sehen, ob es hier tatsächlich zur Umsetzung kommt.

In einer Pressemitteilung hat IBM Lotus Foundations Reach angekündigt. Diese Version von Lotus Foundations fokussiert sich auf die Kommunikationsebene. Neben den schon aus Lotus Foundations Start bekannten Funktionen, wie Calendaring, Mailing und Office Productivity Tools (Symphony), enthält Lotus Foundations Reach Sametime Unified Communication (UC2).
